Anne-Gabrielle Caron

Anne-Gabrielle Caron (2002–2010) was born on January 29, 2002, in Toulon, France, into a devout Catholic family as the eldest of five children of Alexandre and Marie-Dauphine Caron. From a very young age, her deep faith and compassion were noted by those around her—an early sign of a spirituality that would define her short life.

At around six years old, Anne-Gabrielle began experiencing persistent pain in her right leg, which was later diagnosed in February 2009 as Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. Despite the intense chemotherapy and suffering that followed, she continued to live her days with remarkable devotion, prayer, and charity, offering her pain in union with Christ and expressing a profound spiritual maturity far beyond her years. During a period of remission she made her First Communion and received Confirmation, moments that her family recalls as central to her spiritual journey. Anne-Gabrielle died on July 23, 2010, at the age of eight.
